Since we began this channel, I knew I wanted to share our recipe showing how to grill a beer can chicken. This chicken is moist, seasoned just right, and, without a doubt, one of the easiest ways to grill a chicken. If you're not into a bit of heat, decrease or omit the cayenne pepper.
Ingredients
- 1 large roasting chicken
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon white pepper
- 2 teaspoon onion powder
- 2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 4 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Can of Beer
Directions
- In a small bowl, thoroughly combine all the spices.
- Remove giblets from chicken, clean the cavity well, and pat dry with paper towels.
- Rub the spice mixture into the chicken making sure it is evenly distributed and down deep into the skin.
- Place in a re-sealable plastic bag, seal, and refrigerate 2-3 hours or overnight.
- Remove the top from the beer can using a can opener
- Heat the grill to medium-high heat and place the chicken over the beer can in a drip pan or pan that can be placed on the grill
- Cook for about 1 hour with the grill closed.
- Chicken is done when it reaches 165f in the thickest section away from the bone
